We are proud to announce, our CEO, Jonathan Harper, is a finalist of the Big Education Challenge, a £1m prize fund that will support and reward bold ideas with the potential to transform education and learning in the UK.
The Challenge was created to give both young people and experienced innovators in the UK the support and funding they need to bring their ideas to life, and to show a new way is possible.
Jonathan is one of five in the Gamechangers category who will receive funding and investment to bring a new idea to transform education.
Our idea at Future Foundations is CanTeam – we aim is to transform school kitchens into vibrant community hubs, by serving healthy food after school, to young people, their families and local community, creating a sustainable solution to food insecurity, and transforming young people’s educational outcomes.
Food poverty and lack of access to after-school enrichment activities contribute to attainment gaps and negatively impact educational outcomes. We believe we need long-term sustainable solutions, embedded in communities with young people at the centre.
