On Monday the 11th of January Future Foundations delivered a Leadership Day in the beautiful grounds of Prior Park College in Bath.
Objectives of the day
- Encourage the students to take personal responsibility for their own learning, take academic and personal opportunities and highlight the benefits of doing so.
- Help students identify life goals and work back through life stages that will take them there; challenging them to identify current achievement needed for future success and their part in it.
- Motivate students ahead of upcoming mock exams exploring state and time management techniques to help them reach their potential.
- Build the students’ confidence, initiative, teamwork, pro-activity and commitment towards their vision through working together on team building tasks.
- Special topics sessions encouraging students to broaden their perspectives, build a personal profile and consider leadership roles and projects inside school, such as head of house.
- Provide a fun and interactive experience which the students will remember.
How the aims were delivered
- Used experiential team tasks and reflection sessions throughout to relate learning to the objectives of the leadership day.
- Programme was led by an experienced course director with a focus on a directional style of delivery.
- FF 30 day challenge was set at the end of the programme to motivate students to work towards agreed goals in the run up their mock exams.
- Throughout the programme there was an ethos of support, teamwork and cooperation.
