Objectives of the day

  • Encourage the students to take personal responsibility for their own learning, take academic and personal opportunities and highlight the benefits of doing so.
  • Help students identify life goals and work back through life stages that will take them there; challenging them to identify current achievement needed for future success and their part in it.
  • Motivate students ahead of upcoming mock exams exploring state and time management techniques to help them reach their potential.
  • Build the students’ confidence, initiative, teamwork, pro-activity and commitment towards their vision through working together on team building tasks.
  • Special topics sessions encouraging students to broaden their perspectives, build a personal profile and consider leadership roles and projects inside school, such as head of house.
  • Provide a fun and interactive experience which the students will remember.

How the aims were delivered

  • Used experiential team tasks and reflection sessions throughout to relate learning to the objectives of the leadership day.
  • Programme was led by an experienced course director with a focus on a directional style of delivery.
  •  FF 30 day challenge was set at the end of the programme to motivate students to work towards agreed goals in the run up their mock exams.
  • Throughout the programme there was an ethos of support, teamwork and cooperation.

Its focus was appropriate and fluid, students all in the very least came away with an idea that a leader isn't necessarily the one that shouts loudest! and many came away with some positive initiatives they wish to follow up
