Participant Code of ConductResidential

Future Foundations is responsible for the day-to-day running of the programme including your accommodation, activities and pastoral care.

To help everyone enjoy a safe, supportive and inspiring experience, all participants are expected to follow Future Foundations’ Code of Conduct.

✅ Code of Conduct – Overview

As a participant, you agree to:

  • Treat everyone with respect and kindness
  • Take part fully and give my best
  • Look after the space and equipment
  • Follow instructions and stay safe
  • Keep my phone away during sessions
  • Live the Future Foundations values

If you do not follow this agreement, your parent/carer may be contacted.

In serious cases, you may be asked to leave the programme early, and your school may also be informed.

Full Code of Conduct

These guidelines are here to help everyone feel welcome, supported and safe.

How We Treat Others

  • Be kind and respectful to everyone – fellow participants, staff, volunteers, and community members (this includes other guests and residents on site at a venue).

  • Include others and listen with empathy.

  • Bullying, teasing, or exclusion will not be tolerated.

How We Show Up

  • Bring your full energy and commitment to all activities.

  • Be honest and take responsibility for your actions.

  • Ask for help if you need it – we’re here to support you.

Respecting the Space

  • Respect all venues, accommodation and equipment.

  • Stay in your own room after bedtime. Don’t enter other people’s rooms.

  • If anything is damaged due to carelessness, your parent/carer may be asked to cover the cost.

Staying Safe

  • Follow all staff instructions – they are in place to keep everyone safe.

  • Stay on site unless you’re with a staff member.

  • Do not bring or use alcohol, drugs, weapons or engage in illegal behaviour. Serious breaches may be reported to authorities.

Phones and Devices

  • Phones are not allowed in sessions or activities unless a staff member says otherwise.

  • Don’t take photos or videos of others without their permission.

  • Be respectful in any messages or online interactions.

Our Shared Values

We follow the Future Foundations principles – and invite you to do the same:

  • Take Responsibility – for yourself and your impact on others

  • Pursue Your Passion – bring your unique energy and curiosity

  • Contribute Your Talents – help where you can and support others

  • Enjoy the Journey – stay present and make the most of each moment

  • Be Authentic – be true to yourself and let others be, too

Your Commitment

By attending this programme, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct.

If you seriously break these expectations, we may contact your parent/carer, and you could be asked to leave the programme early. This would always be a last resort and handled with care.  We may also contact your school that nominated you to take part to make them aware.

If you’re ever feeling worried, unwell, or unsure, talk to a member of staff – we are here for you.

Support

Future Foundations will have a pastoral team onsite throughout the residential, including:

  • House parents

  • Course leadership team – Course Director and Operations Director

  • Coaches

Our team will be available to support your participation. We will have a staff rota in place, with team members on hand at all times – including overnight – so you always have someone to talk to if you need help, feel unwell or just want a listening ear.
