Following a successful pilot in 2025, Purposeful Ventures is again working with Axiom Maths and Future Foundations to deliver three residential maths camps for 12 to 14-year-olds in August 2026 at Christ’s Hospital, Horsham and Bootham School, York , for up to 150 pupils per camp.
We are seeking two experienced Camp Directors who will be responsible for on-site leadership and delivery of the camps. The curriculum and overall programme design will be developed centrally by Purposeful Ventures.

Most of this role will be on-site, during the summer holidays when the camps are taking place. However, there is also some paid time required between April 1 and the start of the camp to support recruitment, training on the curriculum and camp preparation. You will need to commit to the pre-work outlined below in addition to the camp delivery dates to apply. There is the potential for additional work with mutual agreement.
To plan and prepare for the camp, the Camp Director will be supported by the Purposeful Ventures Maths Camp Lead and a central team with representatives from Purposeful Ventures, Axiom Maths and Future Foundations. During the camp, the onsite team will include Coaches, as well as Operations and Pastoral staff.
The Camp Director will embody the vision of Maths Camps, creating an environment where enthusiastic young mathematicians can expand their minds with the support of a team of inspiring maths educators and communicators.

About us
Maths Camps 2026 is delivered by the following organisations
Purposeful Ventures
Our vision is of a fairer society where all young people thrive.
Purposeful Ventures partners with social entrepreneurs and philanthropists to improve the education and wellbeing of young people. We define and diagnose the issues affecting children and young people, analyse evidence and explore promising solutions. We then select, accelerate and incubate organisations which tackle those issues, offering hands-on operational support alongside funding.
Our Maths portfolio seeks to ensure that more young people can engage with and excel at mathematics through high-quality enrichment and educational innovation.
Axiom Maths
Axiom Maths is a charity focusing on helping every child with the heart and head for maths realise the potential of their power. Half of disadvantaged children who are high attainers in maths at 11 are no longer high attainers by age 16. That is a huge loss of human potential that affects both those children as individuals and us as a wider society. We are focused on stopping that loss.
We partner with schools to identify children with the heart and head for maths. We stick with them on a five-year journey, from the first term of secondary school to the end of GCSEs.
We craft curricula that inspire and challenge young minds, with problems that excite them, where they lose themselves in maths.
We create social groups that nurture mathematical talent, where pupils feel at home and valued.
Future Foundations
Our vision is a society where every young person makes the transition into adulthood with the foundations they need for their future. Our mission is to equip young people to thrive.
Founded in 2004, Future Foundations designs and delivers award-winning educational and social action programmes. We have partnered with mission driven organisations reaching over 100,000 young people (aged 7 to 18) in 100 countries.
FF was the delivery partner for Maths Camps in 2025.
