CanTeam aims to transform educational and nutritional outcomes for young people and their families, by equipping and supporting schools to offer an after-school food programme.

We are proud to share, our CEO Jonathan Harper, has been announced as a finalist of the Big Change Education Challenge.

We are being supported to test our idea and bring CanTeam to life.

Eat together.

Thrive together.

CanTeam is a new initiative drawing on Future Foundations experience offering food within our summer schools.

Our goal is to promote sustainable eating practices that reduce food waste, food hunger, fuel bills, plastic consumption, and food miles while improving educational outcomes, health and wellbeing.

We are committed to ensuring that good quality food is accessible and affordable, regardless of financial circumstances. To achieve this, we are exploring offering all food without charge or subsidies to families eligible for the pupil premium.  We want to provide food without any stigma of food banks or vouchers.

We envisage CanTeam will extend beyond meal provision, with activities and other services being offered alongside a core food offering.

We strive to create a thriving space and community hub that operates beyond school hours. As social spaces such as high streets diminish, we aim to establish schools as community-oriented service providers that generate social capital and offer declining facilities and services.

Future Foundations has been awarded grant funding from Big Change to work through a design thinking process to develop CanTeam and consult stakeholders, as part of the Big Education Challenge.

We have surveyed over 1000+ young people, parents/carers & educators

We can create a more sustainable and equitable society.
