Statement on the Novel Coronavirus (covid-19)

Future Foundations takes the welfare of all those attending its programmes and its staff as the highest priority. We are very aware of concern about the Novel Coronavirus, both in the UK and internationally, and are actively monitoring the situation and the advice being provided by The UK Government, the World Health Organisation and Public Health England.

Future Foundations does not currently have any active programmes running abroad nor have any of our staff travelled to areas of concern. We will be following our policies and procedures for any programme we deliver and factoring in the changing situation of the coronavirus in our activity.

We are putting in place extra precautionary measures to ensure our staff and students on our programmes are made aware of the virus, its symptoms and how it spreads.  We will also be liaising with our school clients ahead of any programmes to ensure that we are all working to support each other in not creating any risk of infection to our participants.

Our major focus is also our annual Global Social Leaders World Summit at the end of August which is held in the UK for students and teachers from across the world.  As the situation unfolds, we will be ensuring we update all those planning to attend – at this time we plan to continue with the programme but are monitoring and evaluating the situation globally.

Please note that we are also guided in our own decisions by the expectations of hosting venues such as Wellington College for the GSL World Summit.  Their statement on the Novel Coronavirus is here: https://www.wellingtoncollege.org.uk/novel-coronavirus/

Specifically, we will be communicating with schools’ bookings from areas that are currently being advised not to travel or are noted by the UK Government as at-risk locations.

We will continue to update our statement. In the meantime, if you have any further queries, or if any parents or other stakeholders require any clarification or explanation of any advisory information or updates, please contact Michelle Horne, Operations Director  michelle.horne@future-foundations.co.uk
