Our alumni have been busy attending some fantastic events with FF this month!

First up was the Water and Food Awards which took place on 18th June in London. Future Foundations partnered with the international NGO “The Humanitarian Water and Food Awards”, in order to give a selected group of alumni the opportunity to attend their annual awards.

The alumni got to attend the ceremony and also join the international Master Class, to find out more about the possibility of ensuring food and security for all.  The event was streamed live to more than 2,000 UN-related organisations and NGOs!

As well as the Water and Food Awards, our alumni also got the chance to attend the Pledge to Peace at the Houses of Parliament on 17th June. Pledge to Peace is a European project designed to promote the development of a culture of peace, by encouraging projects and actions that are aimed at promoting peace in its most universal meaning.

Louis Stokes, one of our alumni, asked the first question of the event:

“How can young people support peace?”

One of the guests in the audience noted that food security is one of the major issues for our future and that we all need to consider our food choices and avoid food waste.  This supports our belief that we need to challenge young people to be more aware of food security and injustice.  This is why we challenged our FF Network to Live Below the Line.  Click here to find out more about this challenge taken on by Jon Harper and members of our office team.

“It was an inspiring event which highlighted that peace starts at home and in the actions every individual and organisation takes.”

Jon Harper, our CEO, said: “It was an inspiring event which highlighted that peace starts at home and in the actions every individual and organisation takes. We are committed to bringing together young people from every background as we believe through collaboration we can create a future were young people make the transition into adulthood with a greater understanding of others and of being socially conscious.”

Thank you to all our alumni who attended!
