We are delighted to share that Future Foundations has been selected to be the UK National Delivery Partner for the Persil Dirt Is Good Schools Programme, working in partnership with Global Action Plan. This will be a new fully funded programme, which will support primary and secondary schools, to engage their students in taking action on social and environmental issues.  Our bid was supported by our incredible partners who endorsed our bid and pledged to share the programme with their networks.  Find out more below!

Unleashing the potential of young people to create a better world.

New research developed by The Persil Dirt Is Good Project and charity Global Action Plan reveals that while young people are highly compassionate, there is a misconception that these values are not shared by their peers. This means that they take part in less social and environmental action than they would like to for fear of not fitting in, to the detriment of their own well-being and their impact on the world around them. The project has commissioned a whitepaper which uncovers the widespread misconception that humans are inherently self-interested and highlights how addressing this misconception could be key in efforts to promote and sustain youth action on social and environmental issues and consequently the well-being of young people.

Re-watch the launch of the whitepaper:

The results of this whitepaper were launched at a panel event hosted by Persil & Global Action Plan on the 2nd February 2021. Academics and thought leaders in the well being, education and environmental fields came together to explore the role compassion plays in encouraging young people to roll up their sleeves and take action on the issues they care about.  Click here to watch the event back.
