If you’re in a partnership with an overseas school you may eligible for funding to help you work on global learning together.

Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning is a completely free and flexible programme open to all schools in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning is a partnership between the British Council and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

They have a number of grants available to enable teachers and school leaders with active partnerships outside the UK, to visit their partner school face-to-face (depending on Covid 19 restrictions), plus fund their international partners to come and visit them in the UK. Reciprocal visits are an opportunity to strengthen their partnership, share practice, deepen your global learning experience and plan work for the future.

While reciprocal visits are suspended during global travel restrictions, you can still partner with other schools through Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning, conduct project work and apply for a travel grant to use once restrictions are lifted.

Application windows for their grants are open in October and December. Grants can be used to cover travel, supply costs and more. They offer plenty of support to help you with your application as well as advice on how to design reciprocal visits.
