AWS GetIT Phases | 2021/22
Phase One: Whole Year Assembly
If your application is successful, you will then hold an assembly in your school to launch the programme to your students. This will be delivered either in person or virtually by an inspiring female AWS ambassador who will then stay with your school throughout the programme.
Phase Two: App Idea Generation

Teams must be at least 50% girls to qualify, and have to comprise of 3-7 students.
Students can start independently designing their app – but should remember, that it must be focused on tackling/solving real local issues.
Phase Three: Bootcamp
The GetIT bootcamp is an opportunity for students to find out more about the world of tech and the different technology they can use when designing their apps. This will be delivered in schools with the help of online video and activity materials provided by AWS. The school’s AWS Ambassador will also support with the delivery of the Bootcamp.
Phase Four: App idea feedback session
During this phase, a feedback session delivered by your AWS or Amazon ambassador will be organised. The purpose of the session is for your ambassador to give the students feedback on their app ideas and support them in the run up to the submission deadline. This is also a chance for students to practice their presentations to an audience.
Students can submit a blog post about their app or experience! Please ensure you have permission from your school prior to submitting.
