About the Camp

What is the Maths Camp?

The 1729 Maths Camp is a fully-funded non-residential camp designed by 1729 Maths School for top-attaining Year 5 pupils (going into Year 6 in September 2025) who are exceptional young mathematicians who love maths.

1729 Maths School is the UK’s first specialist maths school for boys and girls aged 11 to 18 and is currently welcoming families to register interest for Year 7 and Year 9 entry in September 2026.

It will be hosted by the new 1729 Maths School at Mill Hill School, London, NW7 1QS, a historic boarding school with extensive outdoor spaces and inspiring facilities.

Future Foundations will manage the camp and provide students’ pastoral care, working in close partnership with the 1729 Maths School.

When is the camp?

  • Dates: Wednesday 27th to Friday 29th August 2025.
  • Timings (Provisional): Arrive each day at by 9:30 and depart at 3:30.  On Friday, there will be a parent showcase in the afternoon.
    • Parents may drop off from 8:30 and pick up up until 4pm

How much does it cost?

There is no cost. The camp is fully funded by 1729 Maths School, including meals, refreshments, activities and learning materials.

Logistics & Travel

How does my child get to the venue?

When we offer places, we will send a short travel survey to understand your travel plans and identify if you or your child needs any support with travel planning, travel expenses reimbursed or local hotel accommodation (if daily travel is not possible).   We do not want the cost of distance to the camp to be a barrier to taking part.

There is plenty of parking onsite to drop off and pick up your child.  We may provide a shuttle bus from local train stations (Mill Hill East and Mill Hill Broadway) to and from the school.

 Pastoral Care & Supervision

Who will look after my child during camp?

Future Foundations is responsible for all operations and pastoral care.

Our team includes:

  • Camp leadership staff, including a Course Director and Operations Director
  • Maths Coaches

All staff are enhanced DBS-checked and trained in safeguarding.

What if my child is nervous about attending?

This is very normal. Our team creates a welcoming environment and offers plenty of support. Pupils will take part in icebreakers and team-building activities to help them feel at ease and make friends quickly.

Food

What meals are provided?

Lunch and refreshments will be provided each day, with meat and vegetarian options provided.

What if my child has dietary requirements or allergies?

If we offer your child a place, we will ask for the details in a Parent/Carer consent form. The catering team at Mill Hill School can accommodate most needs (they cater for school children and are used to catering for dietary requirements).  We will share the details with them and will contact you if we need additional information.

‍Medical & Additional Needs

What if my child has medical needs?

If your child is offered a place, you will be asked to let us know any medical needs in a parent/carer consent form.

Medication can be stored securely, including refrigerated items if needed. First aiders and staff are trained and available at all times. With consent, we may provide basic medication (e.g. paracetamol, antihistamines) under supervision.

My child has additional needs – what should I do?

If your child has specific needs related to learning, mobility, sensory processing, or mental health, please let us know through the parent/carer consent form or let Future Foundations know if you would prefer to share details in a conversation.

We will work closely with you to ensure the right support is in place. Where needed, we may follow up to gather further information and agree on any adjustments or additional support.

If appropriate, we will complete a review of your child’s additional needs and share our proposed support plan with you for mutual agreement.
