National Citizen Service - Senior Mentor

NCS Senior Mentor is an amazing opportunity to support, mentor and help develop NCS participants through a summer of personal development and implementation of a community project. Working as a support and alongside your Team coach and managing and guiding the Team mentor you will have a unique opportunity to work with a team of 16 amazing and diverse 16 year olds over a 3 consecutive week residential and non-residential summer programme.

Once the summer programme is completed you will then have the exciting privilege of supporting the Team mentor and group of 16 participants successfully action their community project.

Overview:

Position: Senior Team Mentor, Future Foundations (FF) National Citizen Service (NCS) 2012
Location: 1 of 9 Regions (Southampton, Bath, Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle)
 
  • Week 1: Residential - Wellington College, Berkshire
  • Week 2: Residential - University Campus, within your region/ local community
  • Week 3: Non-residential – Within your assigned region/ local community
  PLEASE NOTE THAT IN LEEDS AND BIRMINGHAM WE ARE RECRUITING ONE DEAF OR DEAF AWARE SENIOR MENTOR (IN BOTH REGIONS) TO WORK WITH A TEAM OF BOTH DEAF AND HEARING PARTICIPANTS. IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR THIS ROLE PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE CORRECT JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting To: Lis Cashin, NCS Programme Manager
Duration: 3 Consecutive weeks July/ August, plus attendance of Local & National Awards & Graduation
Payscale: Pay for the role is £1,530 which includes and covers:-
 
  • 4 days residential training including any additional training in accordance with your job description depending on your level of experience for the role. Dates to be confirmed
  • The 3 week residential and non-residential NCS summer Programme
  • Supervision of the Team Mentors 30 hours of participant mentoring including 3 meetings with the Team mentor and participants.

  • Attendance of the Local and National Awards & Graduation Ceremony
  • Food and accommodation for the residential Programme
